Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a retail food store organization in Saline, Michigan. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to day-to-day financial accuracy while assisting with budgeting, reporting, and asset-related accounting activities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across multiple accounting functions and maintaining organized, reliable financial records.

Responsibilities:

Manage inventory-related accounting tasks and maintain accurate supporting records for stock and equipment activity.

Prepare journal entries and ensure transactions are recorded correctly within the general ledger.

Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis to verify balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Review payment batches and authorize check runs to support accurate and timely disbursements.

Assist with fixed asset accounting, including tracking additions, updates, and related documentation.

Contribute to the preparation of financial statements by organizing data and supporting month-end reporting activities.

Support the annual budgeting process by compiling financial information and assisting with budget schedules.

Collaborate with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to help maintain complete and accurate accounting records. Requirements Equipment Inventory, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR)
