Job Title: Construction Project Manager - Data Center (Temporary)
Job Description
This temporary Construction Project Manager role oversees the execution and delivery of large-scale data center construction projects in Aiken, South Carolina. The position focuses on managing project scope, schedule, and coordination across internal teams and external vendors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in strict alignment with applicable codes, industry standards, and safety regulations. The role requires extensive experience in construction project management, particularly in data center or other mission-critical environments. It offers the possibility of remote work for portions of the assignment based on project needs. This is a project-based position with an anticipated end date in November 2027 and is not a full-time permanent role.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate day-to-day construction project execution across internal teams and external vendors to achieve on-time, high-quality delivery of data center projects.
Manage and track project schedules, milestones, risks, and dependencies using scheduling and project controls tools to maintain alignment with overall project objectives.
Support the planning, implementation, and continuous refinement of LEAN construction practices to improve predictability, enhance efficiency, and reduce waste on site.
Review, interpret, and verify construction documents and drawings, ensuring design intent is understood and correctly implemented in the field.
Oversee document management and field coordination activities using digital tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Procore, and Bluebeam to maintain accurate, up-to-date project records.
Help ensure all project activities comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations, including fire protection requirements and site-specific safety protocols.
Participate in regular project reporting and status reviews, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
Identify, escalate, and support resolution of project issues and risks in a timely manner to minimize impact on schedule, cost, and quality.
Coordinate site logistics to support efficient material flow, workforce deployment, and equipment utilization in an active construction environment.
Support change management processes, including evaluating impacts to scope, schedule, and resources, and ensuring changes are documented and communicated appropriately.
Contribute to project closeout activities, including punch list management, verification of completion, and preparation of turnover documentation.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clear communication and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Essential Skills
A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project management, preferably supporting data center or other mission-critical construction projects.
Proven experience managing or coordinating construction projects within an active build environment, including complex, large-scale facilities.
Strong working knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards, including fire protection regulations and related compliance requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of LEAN construction principles and the ability to apply continuous improvement concepts to project delivery.
Proficiency or strong working familiarity with scheduling and project controls tools used for schedule development and tracking.
Proficiency or working familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for document and model management.
Proficiency or working familiarity with Procore for construction management and field coordination.
Proficiency or working familiarity with Bluebeam for drawing review, markup, and collaboration.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to diverse stakeholders and coordinate across multiple parties in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, including the ability to align expectations, manage conflicts, and maintain productive relationships.
Ability to comply with all site safety requirements and access protocols, including adherence to project-specific rules and procedures.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage stress effectively, work safely and respectfully with others, and uphold high standards of trustworthiness and professionalism.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience delivering data center or other mission-critical facilities where reliability, uptime, and adherence to strict technical requirements are critical.
Background in commercial construction management with exposure to complex mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems.
Experience using LEAN methodologies in large-scale construction environments to drive measurable improvements in schedule reliability and waste reduction.
Familiarity with structured change management processes, including documentation, impact assessment, and stakeholder communication.
Experience preparing and managing project closeout documentation, including punch lists, turnover packages, and as-built records.
Ability to meet client expectations and standards while safeguarding business operations and project reputation.
Comfort working in a highly structured, process-driven environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and compliance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $115.00/hr.
