Job Description
The Events Specialist - Nordstrom Restaurant Division is an onsite, execution-focused role responsible for supporting and coordinating food- and beverage-led events within the NYC Flagship and Men's Store. This position is embedded in the Restaurant Division and focuses on day-to-day event execution, operational coordination, and hospitality support for events that include restaurants or specialty coffee.
Working under the guidance of Restaurant leadership and the Food & Beverage Manager, this role ensures events are properly prepared, staffed, and executed in a way that aligns with established service standards and does not disrupt core restaurant operations. The Events Specialist brings strong attention to detail, a hospitality mindset, and a consistent onsite presence to support successful execution in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate logistics and execution for restaurant- and café-led events, including tastings, private dining experiences, and food & beverage activations.
Support event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring spaces are event-ready and returned to standard operating condition.
Follow established timelines, run-of-show plans, menus, and service guidelines provided by Restaurant and Event leadership.
Partner closely with Food and Beverage Manager and Food and Beverage unit leaders to align event details with daily service flow and support staffing communication and readiness (staffing decisions remain with Restaurant leadership and the Food & Beverage Manager).
Support communication of event needs to restaurant teams, ensuring clarity around timing, expectations, and service adjustments.
Support customer service planning for event inquiries and bookings, including gathering requirements, confirming event details, and coordinating next steps with Restaurant leadership.
Coordinate with the Food & Beverage Manager on sourcing needs, labor considerations, readiness, and operational support for events.
Maintain a strong physical presence during events to monitor execution and address issues in real time.
Escalate operational concerns, staffing impacts, or scope changes to Restaurant leadership or the Food & Beverage Manager as needed.
Support load-in/load-out, vendor coordination, and basic event logistics under direction.
Partner with Store, Marketing, Licensing, Visual Merchandising, Facilities, and Asset Protection teams to support event readiness when food & beverage is involved.
Clearly follow direction on ownership boundaries when events are led by Store or Marketing teams, supporting only the food & beverage components.
Execute events in compliance with food safety, health, and operational standards.
Support a polished, guest-centric experience aligned with delivering Nordstrom Hospitality expectations.
Assist with post-event cleanup, resets, and recap documentation as needed.
