Key Account Manager
The Key Account Manager co-own business planning and execution for the Unit Support Squad and designated account P&L to drive above-market growth, ensuring mutual accountability between Unit Lead, squads, and partners to generate demand and deliver a simplified cross-portfolio growth ambition; in this role, you dynamically support the Unit Lead on near- and mid-term account and stakeholder management, drive business prioritization and planning across all accounts to support the full portfolio go-to-market (GTM) strategy across the geography, and co-own the integration of GTM strategy across the portfolio, including digital and new solution-selling approaches within the supporting unit.
This Territory will cover Western, Minnesota.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
Align account strategy with Strategic Account Leads (SALs), Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), and Unit Leads (ULs); collaborate with units and squads on account strategy and business planning;
Ideate and clearly communicate a compelling vision of successful business outcomes, both near and long term, for the supporting unit focus;
Identify account coverage gaps, prioritize accounts for growth, and ensure robust account management focus in supporting units to achieve P&L targets and optimize growth;
Build and expand the account network, acting as a connector between field squads, Unit Leads, and partners to identify and coordinate growth opportunities and provide partner insights that support BU P&L target attainment;
Create, customize, and personalize Year 0 unit business plans, and align and activate Year+1 business and growth plans between squads and partners, escalating material account deviations with SALs;
Collaborate with Unit Support Squads to align on strategies, procure support services, and integrate cross-portfolio GTM, including digital and new solution-selling approaches;
Challenge all stakeholders to focus on holistic cross-portfolio value creation, modeling successful business practices across communication, work prioritization, and holistic business understanding;
Upskill account management practices for effective cross-portfolio integration and execution in coordination with ULs, communicating and facilitating strategy and tactics to develop mutually beneficial business solutions;
Build strong relationships and trust with all stakeholders that foster local resolution of conflicts and issues;
Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall business goals of the supporting unit and designated accounts.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree;
Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking, with strong planning, negotiation, critical thinking, and leadership skills;
Strong analytical capabilities and innovative sales and negotiation skills, with a high degree of detail orientation;
Ability to balance Bayer and customer needs to achieve mutually beneficial business results and drive both top- and bottom-line growth;
Proven ability to lead and collaborate across Bayer field teams, Unit Leads, units, and accounts, including the ability to influence without formal authority;
Strong communication and influencing skills to drive execution of account plans with diverse stakeholders;
Ability to quickly adapt selling and solution approaches, leveraging digital tools and systems to represent the full BCS portfolio;
Advanced account management and business planning skill set, with a demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships and influence behavior through trust and inclusive collaboration;
Willingness to invest in and continuously develop financial acumen to manage significant financial magnitude (approximately $100M-$300M gross sales in the supporting unit);
Ability to achieve business results in a relatively autonomous environment without direct supervision, including the willingness and ability to strategically delegate decision-making to the lowest appropriate level;
Position requires driving for the company, possibly under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, involving safe hauling of trailers, products, supplies, or equipment;
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field with approximately 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in a related field with approximately 6 years of relevant experience;
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $118,960.00- $178,440.00 .Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
