DEPUTY PUBLIC WORKS OFFICER

Summary You will serve as a Deputy Public Works Officer for Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach in the Public Works Department of NAVWPNSTA SEAL BEACH. Responsibilities You will oversee a broad variety of public works services including planning, maintenance, contracting, and construction. You will serve as the key advisor to the Public Works Officer on all operational, personnel, and financial matters affecting the Department. You will balance current demands with future income and workforce shaping initiatives to create a leaner and more efficient operation. You will develop budget requirements based on projected customer funding, estimated pay increases, emergent requirements, and Navy priorities. You will coordinate the acquisition, planning, programming, budgeting, funding, and manpower resources. You will set the standards by which employee performance is evaluated. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying understanding of budgeting, hiring, and personnel actions for a public works department; 2) Providing guidance relating to operations of a public works department; 3) Exhibiting comprehensive understanding of military contracting and construction in support of public works services; and 4) Working with dynamic teams in support of public works department operations and facilities engineering services.NOTE: This experience must be fully supported in your resume.
