Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney's linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney's media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney's EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams

Job Summary:
As a Network Origination Operator I, you will be an integral part of the Network Origination team, ensuring
seamless 24/7 operations for Disney Media Networks and their associated streaming networks. This may include, but is not limited to, Disney Channel, Freeform, FX, National Geographic, ABC Television Network and owned ABC Television Stations. Operators are the gate keepers of our operation to assure all business needs are being met while protecting our high standard of quality and content being released to the public. In all, the mission is to execute and
support our network operations while ensuring technical quality and creative vision are maintained. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct control, oversight and support of our operation while maintaining close collaboration with internal teams such as Programming, Production, Transmission, and
Traffic.
A successful candidate must be able to maintain a high-level attention to detail, often for extended periods of time, across several linear video streams. Ability to prioritize tasks will be critical as you monitor and
validate signal components for on-air products, perform broadcast quality control (QC) for technical anomalies, and ensuring components are airing as scheduled.
In this role, you will work rotational shifts to support 24 hour / 7 day a week operation. You will gain skills in various operational areas and enhance knowledge in the use of all broadcast equipment and technology.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Flexibility to work all shifts composing a 24/7 day, including swing shifts, overnights, weekends, holidays and special events.
Monitor and validate signal components to ensure the quality of the on-air product.
Execute control and monitoring of systems, perform administrative duties, and communicate with supporting departments to ensure all networks are airing as instructed.
Source routing and switching for all outbound network feeds.
Analyze and recover quickly from high-pressure situations to minimize revenue loss and maintain recovery expectations.
Escalate technical and operational issues clearly and provide concise reports to technical support, engineering, and management regarding technical and operational concerns.
Support the implementation of technological upgrades, workflows and projects to further the vision of the facility.
Collaborate with internal and external teams in support of new business initiatives.
Work constructively and respectfully with team and department members to achieve common goals while upholding The Walt Disney Company's values.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Basic Qualifications
Experience with broadcast operations and/or content distribution
Media/communications or technology background
Proactive problem-solving and critical thinking skills · Self-motivated, organized and communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Open to change and ability to pivot while navigating a constantly changing environment.
Must demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and lead simultaneous projects
Ability to work as a part of a team dynamic
Solid interpersonal communication skills are a necessity
Organizational, efficiency and planning skills are required
Must be willing and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
Candidates must have good computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc...) and strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in television or streaming media field
Understanding of basic video formats (SD, HD, UHD, HD-HDR and video and audio standards (SMPTE)
Understanding of basic audio formats such as mono, stereo, native 5.1 & 5.1 up-mix
Bilingual (written and spoken) - English/Spanish · Experience with broadcast equipment and technology
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree, certificate or study in a field related to media, broadcast, engineering, communications, computer science OR equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Woodlands, TX is $51,000 to $68,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
