The Nurse Manager of a Radiology: lnterventional Radiology, CT /MRI, Radiation Oncology and Hema Onco Outpatient Clinic is a registered professional nurse; she/he is accountable for the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by staff in the Radiology Service including Diagnostic, radiation and oncology. The Nurse Manager is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of nursing standards of practice and care. As a nurse leader, the Nurse Manager uses appropriate consultation with experts of each discipline he/she supervises to ensure that practice and performance issues are addressed and resolved. The Nurse Manager is responsible for directing and organizing the unit-specific orientation, training and development of these staff and for directing, supervising, and evaluating their performance. Further responsibility includes assuring orientation and clinical competence of these nursing staff. The Nurse Manager is responsible for completing special projects and educational initiatives as assigned. The Radiology Nurse Manager also provides direct patient care activities to accomplish the goals of the service. Nurse I, Level III Demonstrates proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning. Self-directed in goal setting for managing complex client situations. An ADN or Diploma in Nursing AND 2 years of professional nursing experience in which one year is equivalent to Nurse I, Level 2; OR a BSN and 1 year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the Nurse I, Level 2; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) and no additional professional nursing experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field with a BSN and no additional professional nursing experience. Nurse II Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. A BSN with 2 years of professional nursing equivalent to Nurse I, Level 3; OR an MSN with one year of specialized nursing experience equivalent to Nurse I, Level 3; OR a Master's degree in a related field with a BSN and one year of specialized nursing experience equivalent to Nurse I, Level 3; OR a Doctoral degree in Nursing with no professional nursing experience; OR a Doctoral degree in a related field with a BSN with no additional professional nursing experience. This position involves exposure to blood borne pathogens, fine manipulation, standing, walking, bending, crouching and reaching patients. It requires dealing with the acutely ill, with patients who may display disturbed behaviors, and with stressful situations. Moving patients and weighing patients in excess of 50 kg. or more. Wearing of a respirator may be required at times in the performance of the duties of this position.
