Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Visual Information Directorate of NAVMEDSUP DET BETHESDA MD. Responsibilities You will perform periodic maintenance of AV Broadcast equipment ensuring that the equipment is serviced, repaired and/or replaced at regular and required intervals. You will perform technical tuning and operation of a latest state of the art video production systems including editing, audio, distribution, dubbing, and CCTV subsystems. You will implement contingency plans for continuous operation of all systems. You will formulate preliminary designs for a rework of any system or subsystems, including cost surveys and estimates. You will analyze technical problems and develop solutions to solve them. You will repair circuits incorporating current trends and capabilities of newly developed software and hardware. You will recommend equipment updates, ensuring that equipment is compatible with current systems without rendering presently owned equipment obsolete. You will analyze the condition of the component parts of the television system and report the lack of items necessary to accomplish the mission of the television project should such deficiencies exist. You will install and integrate tasks that are completed in an industry standard, within security specifications, and a professional manner using engineering drawings and wiring diagrams. You will conduct testing for completed installations of new, old, or modified equipment or systems for proper operation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience instructing others in equipment usage and operation of equipment during live unrehearsed productions, events and videoconferences. Experience reading and interpreting schematics or detailed design drawings for broadcast systems. And experience using audiovisual technical aspects of design construction, and maintenance of broadcast level systems and multi-faceted subsystems. GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience setting up and operating a wide variety of digital broadcast audiovisual equipment. Experience operating and modifying the component cameras, recorders, audio, testing and diagnostic equipment used in a television studio. And experience proper staging and use of varied studio props.
