Job Title: Engineering Project Manager
Job Description
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical, schedule, and cost performance of complex projects, ensuring all objectives are met according to contract requirements. This role involves managing the technical direction of projects throughout their lifecycle, setting and managing customer expectations, and reporting performance both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Independently develop cost and schedule estimates, along with identifying risks and opportunities for bid and proposal opportunities.
Ensure customer requirements and specifications are accurately captured, communicated, and achieved throughout the contract lifecycle.
Generate Integrated Master Schedules and track project status throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop risk and opportunities registers for projects, including cost, schedule, and technical aspects, and manage emergent issues with mitigation and contingency plans.
Partner with resource managers to assign resources and resolve conflicts to meet key delivery dates.
Minimize project scope growth through strong change control practices, including developing change proposals for customers.
Calculate Estimate at Completion/Estimate to Completion for projects and develop mitigation plans for any cost or schedule growth.
Perform complex variance analysis for actual results against the Forecast and Annual Operating Plan.
Manage Earned Value Management Systems on contracts, generating key cost and schedule performance indices and Contract Performance Reports.
Negotiate updates to the project plan for all changes related to cost and schedule.
Document and disseminate lessons learned post-project completion to all stakeholders.
Manage integration of key supplier tasks to the Integrated Master Schedule to ensure supplier deliverable dates do not impact key project deliverables.
Oversee and manage operational aspects of complex projects, serving as liaison between project management, operations, project team, leadership, and the customer.
Provide guidance on complex project management topics as a Subject Matter Expert within the organization.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
7+ years of experience in project management, program management, or project engineering.
Experience in the aerospace/defense industry, working on government programs both in the continental US and internationally.
Strong personality with excellent organizational skills and a strong sense of ownership.
Experience with customer management and negotiation.
Must be a U.S. Person.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in startups or large aerospace and defense OEMs.
Technical expierence in engineering (e.g., NPI, controls, embedded systems).
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience with ERP systems, including the development of custom reports for project management.
Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Project, SyteLine ERP, Advanced Excel, Jira, and Confluence.
Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.
Advanced understanding of financial forecasting and cost accounting principles.
Work Environment
The position follows a 9/80 schedule and requires onsite presence in the office. The work environment is dynamic and offers the opportunity to join a growing company.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
