About the Position:
Join our Public Works team and play an important role in supporting essential county operations through accounting, financial processing, and administrative support. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable professional who enjoys working in a collaborative office environment and takes pride in accuracy and organization.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, payroll, banking, or financial recordkeeping who are looking to grow their administrative and accounting skills in the public sector.
Key Responsibilities
Process invoices in PeopleSoft accounting software by creating vouchers, editing documentation, scanning records, and submitting payments
Route incoming invoices to divisions and follow up to ensure timely processing
Research invoice payment status in PeopleSoft and assist divisions with resubmissions when needed
Maintain Purchasing Card documentation by recording voucher numbers and scanning records
Audit claims and vouchers for accuracy, proper budget classification, compliance, and adherence to county procedures and contracts
Identify and resolve discrepancies, including improper authorizations or incomplete documentation
Verify mileage reimbursement calculations for accuracy
Provide general administrative support including scanning, sorting, photocopying, filing, and preparing mailings

About the Division
The Administrative Services Division is responsible for staff support services for the other seven Public Works Divisions, as well as central administration for the Department. Examples of direct administrative responsibility for the Department are in accounting, personnel, payroll, budgeting, financial management, safety, training and development, contract administration and reception. In addition, Administrative Services division provides leadership, information, analysis and support to the department director, department assistant director, management team, staff, citizens, and Board of Commissioners to assist them in their efforts to make quality decisions about the department and the County communities.
Schedule: As needed, schedule and weekly # of hours vary depending on the season with May through September being the busiest. Work is conducted between the hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Employer will make every effort to find a schedule that works for both the employee and the County.

*This position is budgeted for a maximum of 1,040 hours during the fiscal year.
QUALIFICATIONS
Training
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in bookkeeping or accounting or a related field is desirable.
Experience
One year of financial or statistical record-keeping experience;
or an equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
DRIVER'S LICENSE
Must be in possession of a valid driver's license at time of application, and a valid Oregon Driver's license by time of appointment.

Health insurance coverage becomes effective the first of the month following your first 30-days as an eligible employee.
Medical/Rx/Vision - Lane County offers medical, prescription and vision exam coverage for you and your eligible dependents. The plan options and costs per month for 2026 are outlined below:
If you enroll in the HDHP the County will contribute to your HSA:
For eligible members of unions LCPOA, 626, Admin Pro, and AFSCME Physicians $1,700 for individual coverage and $3,400 for family coverage.
For eligible members of unions AFSCME General, AFSCME Nurses, FOPPO, PAA, and non-represented employees $1,600 for individual coverage and $3,200 for family coverage. Those who complete the requirements to receive the Live Well Credit by November 30, 2026, will receive an additional contribution of $400 individual or $800 family, funded in 2027.
These amounts are prorated based on date of hire.
All eligible employees who complete a Health History Risk Assessment (HHRA), Biometric Screening, and Comprehensive Health Review (CHR) at the Live Well Center receive a $20 per month credit.
