Clinical Leadership and Operations

Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of

nursing services, objectives, policies, and procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations

Support the Director of Nursing in the recruitment, selection,

evaluation, and supervision of nursing staff

Participate in a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week on-call rotation, including

receiving calls and arranging coverage for absent staff

Serve as the communitys co-designated Infection Preventionist,

leading infection prevention and control initiatives in accordance with state, federal, and CMS guidelines

Authorize overtime as necessary to meet operational needs

Promote a collaborative team environment by fostering open

communication, encouraging constructive dialogue, and recognizing the contributions of all team members

Communicate with residents physicians to provide clinical updates,

clarify medical orders, and support care planning decisions

Perform the duties of the Director of Nursing in their absence

Oversee clinical operations, including monitoring resident

conditions; management of psychopharmacological medications; and oversight of restraint use, Foley catheters, pressure injuries, and fall prevention strategies

Assist the DON in designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing

systems to ensure consistent delivery of care, protection of resident rights, and high-quality outcomes; provide reports and recommendations as needed

Conduct nursing rounds on all units multiple times daily, including

at the beginning and end of each shift

Apply professional judgment in the development, implementation, and

ongoing review of facility policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines on both an annual and continuous basis

Assist the DON in ensuring all residents are free from abuse,

mistreatment, and neglect, and report any concerns through appropriate channels

Maintain full compliance with organizational policies by adhering to

The Admiral at the Lakes Code of Conduct and HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements, including completion of annual compliance education

Compliance Program Responsibilities

Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to the organizations

Compliance Program and related policies as outlined in the Code of Conduct and other compliance materials

Conduct new vendor checks in accordance with established compliance

policies and procedures

Acknowledge annual review of the Code of Conduct through required

documentation and participate in corporate compliance education programs

Adhere to all policies and procedures related to privacy and

security in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Staff Development and Training

Identify training and development needs in collaboration with Health

Services staff and department leaders

Research, plan, design, and deliver training programs using a

variety of formats, including computer-based learning, classroom instruction, simulation, and skills labs

Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using quality

indicators, competency assessments, and regulatory compliance outcomes

Document all training activities and maintain accurate individual

staff training records; provide reports as requested by the Director of Nursing

Provide required in-service education and training to clinical staff

upon hire, annually, and as needed

Develop, coordinate, and facilitate the Department Orientation

Program for all new clinical staff

Conduct annual clinical competency evaluations in collaboration with

the Directorof Nursing

Assist the DON in ensuring staff awareness of and compliance with

federal and state regulations related to resident rights and clinical standards

Employee TB and Influenza Program

Coordinate and administer the employee TB testing program for all

staff upon hire and on an annual basis

Maintain TB testing records in a secure manner in compliance with

HIPAA and IDPH requirements

Coordinate and manage the annual influenza vaccination program for

all employees and residents, including tracking completion rates and completing required reporting
