Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic (Airframe or A&P License)

Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
Job Description
This role performs complex sheet metal fabrication, modification, and installation work on a variety of aircraft, including King Air, Caravan, and Challenger platforms, in support of ISR integrations. You will build and install structural components and racks, interpret and work from engineering drawings, collaborate closely with engineers, and support antenna and kit installations. The position includes occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel to support mission needs.
Responsibilities
Perform sheet metal fabrication, modification, and installation on a variety of aircraft, including King Air, Caravan, and Challenger models.
Execute depot-level sheet metal work, including structural repairs, alterations, and reinforcements in accordance with engineering specifications and aviation standards.
Build and install racks and related structural assemblies to support ISR integrations and associated systems.
Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to complete fabrication and installation tasks accurately.
Partner closely with the engineering team to review designs, provide practical input, and help refine solutions for aircraft modifications.
Install antennas and associated structural supports in accordance with engineering requirements and applicable regulations.
Prepare and assemble installation kits, ensuring all required parts, hardware, and materials are organized and ready for use.
Inspect completed work to verify structural integrity, fit, finish, and compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
Use appropriate sheet metal tools, equipment, and techniques to cut, form, drill, fasten, and finish metal components safely and efficiently.
Adapt to a variety of projects so that daily work remains diverse, including rack building, structural modification, and collaborative design work with engineering.
Essential Skills
Active secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Current Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. (Airframe at minimum)
5-10+ years of hands-on sheet metal experience in an aviation environment.
Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and modification for aircraft structures.
Demonstrated skill in sheet metal installation, including depot-level structural work.
Willingness and ability to travel 10%-15% of the time, including CONUS and OCONUS assignments, typically 10-14 days on the road per trip.
Valid U.S. passport to support domestic and international travel requirements.
Additional Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience supporting ISR integrations or similar specialized aircraft modification programs.
Background working in small, highly collaborative maintenance or modification teams.
Comfort providing feedback to engineering teams and contributing to design improvements.
Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset for structural and installation work.

Work Environment
You work in a hangar environment focused on aircraft modification and integration projects. The core team includes approximately three sheet metal mechanics, fostering close collaboration and strong communication. Overtime may be required as mission needs dictate, but leadership strives to limit overtime and offers schedule flexibility when possible. Travel typically consists of 10-14 days on the road per trip, with an overall travel commitment of about 10%-15% annually, and responsibilities are shared fairly across the structural mechanics team.
