Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, adjusts, and repairs production equipment and electrical components in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, and using a Computerized Maintenance Management System to plan and document work.
Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair production equipment and electrical components to maintain safe and reliable operation.
Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment in accordance with electrical codes and safety standards.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure production machines operate at optimal performance levels.
Operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System to receive work orders, record maintenance activities, and track equipment history.
Inspect drives, motors, belts, and related components; check fluid levels; replace filters; and perform other maintenance tasks by following established checklists.
Replace faulty parts, including electrical wiring, motors, controls, and circuit boards, to restore equipment to proper working condition.
Dismantle equipment using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to access and remove defective parts safely.
Lubricate and clean parts and equipment regularly to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
Review and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to plan and execute repairs and installations.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, and change parts as required for maintenance tasks.
Perform PLC troubleshooting and support automation and control systems, including Allen-Bradley and related PLC controls.
Support robotics, conveyor systems, and other automated equipment through programming, adjustment, and repair as needed.
Apply knowledge of three-phase power, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
Execute daily and core business fundamentals, ensuring maintenance work supports production schedules and quality standards.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to prioritize tasks and minimize equipment downtime.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of fall protection equipment and personal protective equipment.
Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing production equipment and electrical components.
Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills, including work with three-phase power, motors, and electrical wiring.
Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.
Proficiency in reading and comprehending blueprints, wiring schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
Experience operating a Computerized Maintenance Management System for planning and documenting maintenance work.
Ability to operate hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
Capability to perform preventive maintenance tasks such as inspecting drives and motors, checking fluid levels, and replacing filters.
High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety procedures and operating and maintenance instructions.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.
Physical ability to lift at least 65 lbs. and perform extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, and climbing.
Ability to work both inside and outside in dusty, hot, and cold conditions while using fall protection equipment when required.
Commitment to wearing required personal protective equipment, including earplugs, hard hat, safety boots or shoes, and protective glasses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical or vocational school certification in electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field (preferred).
Experience with Allen-Bradley systems and PLC troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
Exposure to PLC programming and PLC control for automation and process equipment.
Experience working with robotics, conveyor systems, and automated machinery.
Skill in welding, cutting, and fabrication for maintenance and repair tasks.
Strong blueprint reading and wiring schematic interpretation skills.
Experience in industrial automation and service work supporting production operations.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (desired).
Ability to execute daily maintenance fundamentals while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Willingness to provide personal safety boots or shoes upon hire, with eligibility for a safety boot/shoe reimbursement program after 30 days of employment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing and industrial setting that includes both indoor shops and outdoor areas. The work environment is non-climate-controlled, and technicians perform maintenance in dusty, hot, and cold conditions as needed. Duties involve extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, and climbing, as well as lifting at least 65 lbs. Technicians use a variety of tools and equipment, including hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Fall protection equipment is used when working at heights. Personal protective equipment is mandatory and includes earplugs, a hard hat, safety boots or shoes, and protective glasses. Candidates must provide their own safety boots or shoes upon hire and may participate in a safety boot/shoe reimbursement program after 30 days of employment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
