Job Title: Manufacturing Lead
Job Description
The Manufacturing Lead oversees daily production activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring that quality, safety, and productivity targets are consistently met. This role combines hands-on leadership with strong communication and organizational skills to guide hourly employees, optimize processes, and support continuous improvement across the department.
Responsibilities
Participate in shift start-up meetings with the department team to align on daily goals and expectations.
Communicate current priorities, production targets, ongoing issues, process updates, expectations, and quality goals to the team, along with any other relevant departmental information.
Attend daily recap production and shipping meetings when designated leadership is not present and represent the department effectively.
Direct hourly employees by assigning and coordinating daily production activities to meet schedule and quality requirements.
Determine and help develop methods and procedures that improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
Utilize efficient and effective flow processes for work-in-progress (WIP) at all times to minimize delays and bottlenecks.
Prepare accurate daily productivity reports and ensure timely reporting of production metrics.
Evaluate issues and potential problems proactively, addressing them in a timely manner to minimize impact on operations.
Ensure 5S housekeeping duties are clearly assigned and completed daily to maintain an organized and safe work area.
Maintain open and transparent communication with hourly team members regarding goals, performance, and accomplishments.
Monitor department key performance indicators (KPIs) for results and trends, and use this data to guide improvements.
Develop contingencies and short-term processes as needed to address changes in demand, staffing, or production challenges.
Identify bottlenecks that affect area goals or standards and implement actions to resolve them.
Develop hourly employees through structured training, coaching, and mentoring to build skills and support career growth.
Lead by example in attendance, attitude, and performance, and promote a culture of quality work and urgency.
Promote healthy working relationships within the team and encourage collaboration and mutual respect.
Provide clear, constructive feedback and praise good work while communicating areas for improvement.
Work effectively within a team environment and provide guidance to lower-level nonexempt associates on processes and best practices.
Essential Skills
Advanced understanding of manufacturing documentation, including Manufacturing Process Instruction (MPI) documents, and strict adherence to these standards.
Ability to train employees on department MPI documents and ensure consistent application on the production floor.
Advanced computer skills with entry level to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated experience working on assignments that are complex in nature, requiring strong problem-solving skills.
Considerable judgment and initiative in resolving production issues and making recommendations for improvement.
Ability to determine methods and procedures for new assignments and implement them effectively.
Proven ability to work effectively within a team and lead or provide guidance to lower-level nonexempt associates.
Recognized expertise in assigned job functions and related tasks within a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills to give and receive constructive feedback and maintain open dialogue with team members.
Ability to promote quality work coupled with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines and production goals.
Demonstrated leadership in setting a positive example in attendance, attitude, and performance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in production management, including planning and coordinating daily manufacturing activities.
Hands-on work history in manufacturing processes and production operations.
Prior supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Ability to foster healthy working relationships and a collaborative team culture.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Comfort working in a results-driven environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility located near the Las Vegas Speedway, operating in a fast-paced, technology-driven production environment. The schedule typically follows weekday operations, Monday through Friday, with both day shift and swing shift options available based on candidate preference. The facility supports high-volume manufacturing of server, storage, and networking solutions, requiring attention to detail, adherence to documented processes, and strong teamwork. The workplace promotes 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. Dress is casual on a daily basis, reflecting a practical, hands-on production setting where employees remain engaged on the manufacturing floor throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
