Summary This position is located in VA Long Beach Health Care System, Financial Management Service in Long Beach, CA. The primary purpose is to lead the work of Accounting Technicians and a Voucher Examiner performing a wide range of accounting duties including processing, maintaining and follow-ups on obligations, payments, deposits, and expenditures transfers. Welcome to VA Long Beach Tibor Rubin - History Responsibilities The Lead Accounting Technician is responsible for responding to questions and resolving accounting problems experienced by the Accounting Team staff. Assisting in processing accounting rejects from FMS or IFCAP accounting systems, but also assessing problem areas and suggesting changes to improve the overall accounting system and structure at VA Long Beach Medical Center. Assisting in setting up procedures, processes, monitoring and reporting system to assure that all day to day accounting workload is completed. Lead must perform all the duties of the Accounting Team, and can be designated to substitute for all accounting technicians in their absence. During peak periods and special accounting projects, he/she assists the staff member in the performance of their duties. Within the limits of organizational policy must have a thorough knowledge of IFCAP, CASCA, PAID, DSS, AR, OLCS, Outlook, Excel, Internet Explorer and other integrated VISTA and FMS systems in order to assist the technicians in proper procedures for the maintenance of the General Ledger Accounts.
