THE POSITION
Becoming a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker at the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources offers you a chance to support a beautiful state park while enjoying outdoor work. This role lets you make a real impact by keeping park grounds clean, safe, and welcoming. Each day will bring new tasks that help the park operate smoothly throughout the busy season. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will support the daily upkeep and operation of Tobyhanna State Park through hands-on maintenance and repair work. As a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:
General Maintenance:Assist skilled laborers in routine repair and upkeep tasks around park buildings and facilities
Ground Care:Maintain grass, trees, shrubs, and turf areas through mowing, trimming, planting, and related work
Equipment Operation:Use and maintain tools, vehicles, and machinery needed for construction and grounds work
Construction Support:Assist in simple construction projects such as cement work, form building, and stone or block placement
Visitor Assistance:Provide helpful information to park visitors and support safe use of facilities
Record Keeping:Complete required forms such as daily logs, mileage sheets, and fuel dispensing records

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 20256 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
Typical work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
Shifts and hours will vary including weekends and holidays. Will work 5 of 7 days/37.5 hours per week.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
