Job Title: Construction Laborer - Site Entrance Security
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining secure and efficient access to a construction site by monitoring the main entrance, scanning badges, and coordinating material deliveries. You will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, subcontractors, and delivery drivers, ensuring a professional and orderly flow of people and materials throughout the workday.
Responsibilities
Monitor and control access at the main entrance of the construction site to ensure only authorized individuals enter.
Scan and verify individuals' badges as they enter through the gate and address any access issues promptly.
Coordinate and check in material shipment trucks as they arrive on site, ensuring accurate documentation and proper routing.
Communicate with site personnel regarding scheduled deliveries and any changes to arrival times or access needs.
Walk the facility as needed to support site security, access control, and material coordination tasks.
Serve as a professional and courteous first point of contact for subcontractors, visitors, and ownership representatives.
Follow all site safety procedures and report any security or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Use basic hand tools and equipment as needed to support general labor tasks related to site operations.
Assist with loading, lifting, and moving materials when required, following safe lifting practices.
Adhere to assigned shift schedules, including staggered start times and occasional Saturday work as directed.
Essential Skills
Ability to perform general labor tasks in a construction environment.
Experience working on construction sites or in similar field environments.
Comfort using basic hand tools such as tape measures, hammers, and saws.
Ability to walk and log a significant number of steps around a large facility throughout the day.
Reliable transportation to commute to and from the job site.
Strong professionalism and customer service skills when interacting with visitors, subcontractors, and site representatives.
Ability to work a 6:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. coverage window with staggered shifts (e.g., 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.).
Willingness to work Monday through Friday with Saturdays as needed based on site requirements.
Capability to perform loading and lifting tasks safely as part of daily duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with construction disciplines such as concrete work, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
Familiarity with operating or working around forklifts, scissor lifts, and scaffolding.
Experience handling power tools in a safe and controlled manner.
Comfort working in an outdoor or partially enclosed construction environment.
Strong attention to detail when checking in trucks and verifying materials.
Good communication skills for coordinating with site teams and delivery drivers.

Work Environment
This position is based on an active construction site, primarily at the main entrance gate and surrounding areas. You will work Monday through Friday, covering staggered shifts within a 6:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. window (for example, 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.), with occasional Saturdays as needed and communicated in advance. The role involves extensive walking around the facility, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and frequent interaction with delivery drivers, subcontractors, and site personnel. You will be in an environment where general construction tools and equipment such as hand tools, power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and scaffolding are in regular use. A neat, practical, and professional appearance is expected, as you will be the first point of contact at the site entrance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
