Position Summary

As the Complex Automobile Casualty Adjuster at Oncor, you're responsible for investigating, negotiating and resolving automobile liability claims, including complex automobile liability, high-exposure bodily injury and disputed liability claims. You'll oversee the responsibility of determining liability based on the facts obtained during the investigation.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage a caseload of automobile liability claims, including high severity property damage, bodily injury and multi-party losses.

Initiates and conducts thorough investigations to include taking recorded statements, ordering police reports, speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area for surveillance footage.

Negotiate and render fair and equitable settlement or denial of large, complex and sensitive claims. and attend mediations/trials if warranted.

Maintain proper documentation and gathering of evidence as well as proper preservation techniques for claims.

Responds to calls for emergency claims assistance and investigation on a 24X7 basis.

Skills :

Excellent listener, communicator and time manager to ensure complex claims are resolved in a timely manner.

Knowledgeable in all areas of liability claims processing, handling and settlement and have a good understating of the collection of claims handling and processing.

Knowledge with computer skills and Microsoft office products.

Education & Experience :

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience required.

Applicants must possess 7+ years, within the overall 10+ years of relevant experience listed, handling general liability and bodily injury claims of medium to high level of complexity/severity.

Must possess or be able to obtain a Texas Dept. of Insurance Adjuster's License.

Applicants with prior experience in handling high-severity or catastrophic injury claims are encouraged to apply.

Measure of Success :

Initiates and performs investigations to provide timely, accurate and fair resolution of large, complex and sensitive claims to limit financial and regulatory exposure to Oncor.

Ensure safe storage and retrieval of evidence for legal defense of Oncor.

Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and training to Claims co-workers and others as required.

Demonstrated ability to work across Company lines with diverse work groups to resolve claims.
