Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day receivables operations for a long-term contract opportunity in San Jose, California. This position focuses on accurate payment processing, customer account follow-up, invoicing support, and maintaining healthy cash flow through timely collections. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment in resolving account issues, and the ability to work effectively across billing and finance activities.

Responsibilities:

Apply incoming payments accurately and promptly to customer accounts while researching and resolving discrepancies.

Manage commercial collections efforts by following up on outstanding balances and maintaining clear communication with customers.

Prepare, review, and process billing transactions to help ensure invoices are complete, timely, and accurate.

Monitor daily cash activity, reconcile account movements, and investigate payment variances as needed.

Maintain accounts receivable records and support the resolution of deductions, short payments, and unapplied cash.

Partner with internal teams to address invoicing questions, account status concerns, and customer payment issues.

Produce routine receivables updates and aging information to support financial visibility and follow-up actions. Requirements - Experience working in accounts receivable with hands-on responsibility for payment posting and account maintenance.

Practical knowledge of cash applications, billing support, and daily cash activity review.

Background in commercial collections with the ability to handle customer communications professionally.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reconciling accounts and reviewing financial information.

Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and follow through on resolution in a timely manner.

Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for receivables tracking and reporting.
