Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join a team in Ohio in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation who can support daily financial operations with accuracy, organization, and responsiveness. The role contributes to both payables and receivables activities while helping maintain dependable records and reporting for the business.

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring transactions are entered accurately and completed on schedule.

Examine escrow-related payments, monitor available balances, and prepare statements to support funding replenishment needs.

Process vendor invoices, employee expense submissions, and routine account reconciliations with close attention to detail.

Assist in compiling financial statements and internal management reports by gathering and organizing accounting data.

Maintain orderly financial documentation and recordkeeping systems to support accuracy, compliance, and easy retrieval.

Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, and provide documentation needed during audit reviews.

Address inquiries related to financial transactions and identify practical ways to improve accounting workflows and efficiency. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in an accounting support, accounting clerk, or similar finance-related role.

Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.

Proficiency with QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online for transaction entry and account maintenance.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas for reporting and reconciliation tasks.

Experience reviewing, coding, and processing invoices with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to organize financial records, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for responding to transaction-related questions and collaborating with team members.
