Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in Corona, California in a Contract to permanent capacity. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can manage invoice processing accurately, maintain strong vendor relationships, and support timely payment operations. The role requires someone who is organized, communicative, and comfortable working across departments to keep accounts payable activities running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Process full-cycle accounts payable activities, from invoice receipt through payment completion, while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Review and validate invoices through three-way matching by comparing purchase orders, receipts, and billing documents before approval.

Organize and batch invoices for payment while coordinating closely with Purchasing and internal teams to resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Reconcile vendor statements and account balances, investigating variances and following through on outstanding items.

Prepare and support payment processing activities, including ACH transactions and check runs, in accordance with company procedures.

Apply proper account coding to invoices to ensure expenses are recorded correctly in the general ledger.

Assist with sales and use tax-related tasks by verifying applicable tax treatment and supporting compliance efforts.

Support year-end reporting requirements by maintaining records and contributing to accurate 1099 filing and documentation. Requirements - Experience in accounts payable, including end-to-end invoice processing in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.

Background in a manufacturing setting with an understanding of purchasing and invoice flow preferred.

Working knowledge of three-way matching, vendor reconciliations, and invoice account coding.

Familiarity with ACH payments, check processing, and related payment administration tasks.

Experience handling sales and use tax matters and supporting 1099 compliance activities.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and maintain accurate financial records.

Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
