Job Description:
General Summary:
This role is responsible for overseeing process systems and equipment installation, ensuring all work is carried out in alignment with the owner's interests. As a field representative acting in the owner's best interest, the individual will monitor, coordinate, and document on-site activities throughout all phases of the project including construction, commissioning, final acceptance, and launch. This position ensures that all work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and project schedules.
Essential Job Functions:
Serve as a liaison between the contractors, trades people, architect (if applicable), owners, and engineers
Interpret model and/or 2D drawings to confirm installation conforms to design intent
Review and comment on construction documents for client compliance
Review and comment on shop submittals
Review and comment project Request for Information (RFI's) forms
Understand the overall commissioning plan, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures in order to support completion
Provide field checks and/or investigations as per request of office team
Gather site/facility photos during and upon completion of the project.
Attend construction meetings on behalf of project engineering team and owner.
Supervise the installation of systems and conduct or oversee pre-functional and functional performance testing to verify operation
Act as an independent reviewer to identify and resolve deficiencies or issues
Serve as liaison between the owner, contractor, and project stakeholders providing clear and professional communication
Prepare final reports to document commissioning process, including confirmation that the facility or system meets the owners' requirements
Perform other duties as assigned.
Employment Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred or related work experience (Process Controls knowledge a plus)
PMP Certification a plus
Experience:
10 years of experience with construction and the administration of construction contracts (aka: fabrication and installation of mechanical systems).
OSHA training prefferred
Safety training is preferred
Skills/Competencies:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Schedule, AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
Excellent communication and written skills
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
