Accounting Specialist 1

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist 1 to support accounts receivable operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Irving, Texas. This position is well suited for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable handling financial records with accuracy. The person in this role will contribute to day-to-day billing and payment activities while helping maintain timely and reliable account documentation.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts receivable transactions accurately and ensure financial records are updated in a timely manner.

Review invoices, payments, and account activity to identify discrepancies and resolve routine issues.

Apply incoming payments to customer accounts and maintain clear supporting documentation for each transaction.

Communicate with internal teams and external contacts regarding billing questions, payment status, and account balances.

Reconcile receivable records and assist with preparing reports related to outstanding balances and account activity.

Support month-end activities by verifying data, organizing records, and helping ensure reporting accuracy.

Maintain compliance with established accounting procedures and documentation standards.

Assist with updates to accounting workflows or systems when needed as part of ongoing operational support. Requirements - Experience supporting accounting or accounts receivable functions in a business environment.

Working knowledge of invoice processing, payment application, and account reconciliation.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage financial data with accuracy.

Comfortable using accounting systems, spreadsheets, and standard office software.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for handling billing-related inquiries.

Ability to organize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow established procedures.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting coursework is a plus.
