Job Description
The Manufacturing Associate supports a high-volume manufacturing operation by assembling filter products, operating and assisting with various production machines, and performing packaging and shipping tasks. This role works primarily on 2nd shift in a clean, graphite-based production environment and involves repetitive, hands-on work that requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities
Work in the filters department to assemble filters according to work instructions and production requirements.
Perform repetitive production tasks that require strong hand-eye coordination and consistency.
Pack finished filters and prepare them for shipping as they come off automated equipment.
Assist in other departments, including the press operator area, when not performing filter assembly.
Set up and prepare equipment, tools, and materials needed for daily production activities.
Perform assigned production tasks such as assembly, machine operation, batching, inspections, and related duties based on production needs.
Monitor equipment performance during operation and troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime.
Follow work orders, blueprints, and standard operating procedures to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and document any nonconformances as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding production status, issues, and suggestions for improvement.
Document production data, materials used, and completed work in logs or systems as required.
Process mesh fabric into finished product using appropriate machines and tools.
Use micrometers and calipers to perform precise measurements and verify product dimensions.
Perform slitting and stapling operations as part of the production process.
Stage orders, organize materials, and assist with shipping activities as needed.
Operate a press machine, vertical presses, slitters, and expanders in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Work with 10 plate steel and wire mesh, handling materials safely and accurately.
Apply basic math skills to measure materials and verify dimensions.
Remove rolls from equipment and place rolls into machines safely and efficiently.
Assist in performing machine set-ups and changeovers to support different product runs.
Operate a forklift if properly trained and experienced, to move materials and products within the facility.
Essential Skills
Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis during the shift.
Ability to work safely and effectively in a repetitive, hands-on production role.
Experience using hand tools in a production or mechanical setting.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, work orders, or standard operating procedures.
Ability to perform documentation and complete basic production and quality records accurately.
Capability to conduct basic quality checks and use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail for repetitive assembly and machine tasks.
Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (approximately 2:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., Monday-Thursday).
Reliable attendance and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with press machines, vertical presses, slitters, expanders, or similar production equipment.
Experience in general production, assembly, or packaging operations.
Experience performing machine set-ups and changeovers.
Experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Comfort working with steel plate, wire mesh, and mesh fabrics.
Familiarity with basic math for measuring and verifying dimensions.
Ability to adapt to different departments and support various production tasks as needed.
Steel-toe boots or ability to obtain them to meet safety requirements.

Work Environment
This role is based in a clean, modern manufacturing facility that operates in a graphite production environment, which can be dusty but maintains good airflow and is kept very tidy and organized. The position primarily works on 2nd shift, typically from 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with potential training on 1st shift. You will work around automated equipment, press machines, vertical presses, slitters, expanders, and other production machinery while handling materials such as steel plate, wire mesh, and mesh fabric. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and quality. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe boots, and you will regularly stand, move materials, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
