Description of Job
This position provides technical support to the System and Records Unit (SRU). Position will utilize and manipulate various database tracking systems such as HRMES, CPPS, WebX, DCIS, Form i9, Document Manager, and HRDW actions; create, compile and build employee personnel files; monitor data accuracy and correct errors. Ensure compliance with State Board Rules, Statute and Administrative Regulations. Maintain confidentiality of information, file all documentation into electronic personnel files and distribute mail accordingly. Ensure on-boarding processes are efficient and elegant. The position will collaborate with stakeholders and will be required to create an environment of trust, teamwork and partnership through quality communication and relationships. This position requires the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, manage time effectively, multi-task and problem solve.
Primary Job Duties:
Responsible for all personnel actions/movements to include new employees, disciplinary actions, in-house transfers, promotions, demotions, resignations, terminations, cross certifications, re-allocations, creations, and abolishment;
Serve as System and Records Unit Team Lead, providing guidance on work processes, work load, and serving as one of the leads of quality assurance for all databases that the Systems and Records Unit oversees.
Collaborate and communicate with Staff Resources Coordinators to ensure accuracy of data and PCR reporting;
Gather required documentation to complete necessary transactions;
Responsible for quality control of HRMES, CPPS, WebX, DCIS, Form i9, Document Manager, and HRDW; detect, discover, and expose problems by monitoring entries; clarify data with other work units to correct factual errors; modify work plans to adjust for unforeseen circumstances; recommend improvements and changes to system processes to ensure quality control and staff efficiency;
Ensure work transitions smoothly from ESU through SRU to Payroll;
Ensure the onboarding processes of new hires are efficient and effective;
The position will be a key player in streamlining the onboarding process in a friendly and enthusiastic manner;
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :
Four years of technical or *professional Human Resources experience. Any work experience less than full time will be prorated.
*Technical work is defined as skilled work in the practical application of specialized techniques, procedures, practices, or methods in order to accomplish tasks. The specialized work is a direct extension of a professional field which requires an understanding of that field, the nature of the work requires that it revert to a professional if not performed by a technician.

Possess a valid driver's license. Drivers must maintain a valid, non-restricted Colorado driver's license, obey traffic laws, and be able to safely operate a motor vehicle. All State Vehicles are monitored by telematics for safe operation and employees have no reasonable expectation of privacy while using an agency State Fleet vehicle.

The CDOC shall not hire nor promote anyone who may have contact with an offender who has engaged in sexual abuse which includes acts, activity, and sexual behavior, in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997; or has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse, or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in the above paragraph. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents.

Successfully pass all modules of the six-week Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training, to include English reading comprehension, relevant competency assessments and written/practical exams in Defensive Tactics.

Stabilize another person to accomplish a controlled take down
Use arms, palms of hands, shins, and feet to deliver blows
Withstand impact (slow speed or with a safety bag) on own body from strikes/blows

Rotate body 90 degrees with feet planted for striking with foot or using a defensive tactic;
Get down on one or both knees and up again with multiple repetitions
Will be exposed to Oleoresin Capsicum during Basic Training and will be exposed while on assignment
Must be able to see and hear in order to observe, address and respond to potential breaches in safety and security
Seize, hold, control or subdue violent or assaultive persons and defend oneself or others to prevent injury
Demonstrate body agility, strength of all four limbs and the ability to walk and climb stairs consistently
Work in situations involving assaultive behavior, physical control of another person and/or restraint situations

A drug test will be administered to all new employees; employees must successfully pass. Random drug screening will occur throughout employment.
