As a Sr. Field Service Technician - Conveyor Systems / Electrical & Mechanical here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced technical support and expertise to our customers in the Industrial Automation (IA) business unit. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across conveyor systems and electrical & mechanical equipment, ensuring the successful implementation of our solutions, and driving customer satisfaction. You will report directly to our Field Service Field Manager and you'll work out of our McCalla, AL location . In this role, you will impact the efficiency, productivity, and safety of our customers' operations by providing exceptional technical support and service across conveyor systems and electrical & mechanical automation environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for customers, specifically within conveyor systems and electrical & mechanical equipment
Provide expert-level technical support for Industrial Automation (IA) solutions with a strong focus on material handling and conveyor systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of conveyor and automation solutions
Lead training sessions for customers and field service technicians on electrical & mechanical systems and conveyor operations
Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in conveyor systems, automation, and electrical & mechanical technologies
Hands-on experience with PLC systems, sensors, motors, inverters, control panels, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes
Conduct both preventive and reactive maintenance tasks on conveyor systems and mechanical/electrical equipment
Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to report work orders and provide breakdown data
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for all electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including conveyor systems, sortation systems, robotics, and ASRS
Adjust and maintain scanners, cameras, field buses, and printer applicators
Reset, repair, or replace adjustable parts (belts, chains, cables) and wear components (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys) on conveyor systems
Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment as required
Follow job plans, procedures, and manuals for efficient service
Maintain and troubleshoot components such as motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, and encoders
Assist with troubleshooting of electronics and PLC systems within conveyor and automation environments
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial robots integrated within material handling systems
Utilize mobile devices and asset management systems to create and close work orders, logging relevant data
Follow safety protocols (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.) and ensure a safe working environment
Adhere to company standards, operating procedures, and safety regulations
YOU MUST HAVE
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with Conveyor Systems and Electrical & Mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, or repair
Minimum 2+ years of experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including conveyors, sortation systems, or automation systems
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong technical expertise in electrical & mechanical systems within industrial or automation environments
Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving experience in conveyor systems and industrial equipment
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills
WE VALUE
Technical degree or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Automation field
2+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting conveyor systems in industrial or warehouse environments
Experience with Honeywell Intelligrated Conveyor Systems or similar platforms
Strong skills in electrical & mechanical troubleshooting, including motors, drives, and control systems
Experience working with PLCs and automation systems in material handling environments
Ability to mentor and support junior technicians in conveyor and electrical/mechanical systems
Continuous learning mindset with a focus on automation and conveyor system advancements
Results-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and aerial lifts
