Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a well-established organization in Florida on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position plays an important role in keeping daily accounting activity organized and accurate while supporting financial reporting across multiple accounts. This role will work closely with leadership, the Treasurer, and an external accounting partner to help maintain reliable financial records and deliver clear reporting for ongoing business needs.

Responsibilities:

Record weekly billing transactions and expense activity in QuickBooks Online to keep financial data current and accurate.

Track reimbursements, purchasing activity, and related costs to support internal reporting and spending visibility.

Review bank account activity across operating and savings accounts and assist with reconciliations to resolve inconsistencies promptly.

Coordinate with an external accounting provider by supplying needed information for month-end close and financial statement preparation.

Examine monthly financial reports for accuracy, investigate variances, and raise concerns when discrepancies are identified.

Prepare recurring financial summaries for leadership review and materials used for board-level reporting.

Participate in regular finance committee meetings and provide accounting support tied to discussion topics and follow-up items.

Assist the Treasurer with reporting needs and help organize financial information presented to the Board.

Oversee accounting activity across multiple fund structures, including both externally supported and internally managed accounts. Requirements - 2+ years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar position.

Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online for day-to-day accounting tasks.

Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliation processes.

Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, or related compliance support is preferred.

Ability to analyze financial reports carefully and identify errors, variances, or missing information.

Proficiency in Excel for maintaining schedules, organizing data, and producing basic financial reports.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
