Description We are looking for a Purchase & Sales Specialist to support procurement and transactional purchasing activities for a transport-related operation in South Carolina. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who can balance vendor coordination, documentation accuracy, and day-to-day purchasing support in a fast-paced environment. The role calls for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who brings a proactive attitude, works well with changing priorities, and helps maintain efficient material flow across the business.
Responsibilities:
Manage purchasing transactions for equipment, materials, and operational supplies while ensuring timely and accurate order processing.
Review and reconcile vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving records to support accurate accounts payable processing.
Follow up with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules, resolve order discrepancies, and keep procurement activities on track.
Compare vendor quotes and bid information to help identify cost-effective purchasing decisions aligned with business needs.
Audit procurement documentation for completeness, pricing accuracy, and compliance with internal purchasing practices.
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to address urgent material needs and support uninterrupted operations.
Maintain organized records of purchase orders, invoices, supplier communications, and related procurement activity.
Contribute to additional operational or administrative tasks as needed, including support outside core purchasing duties when priorities shift. Requirements - Experience handling purchasing functions, purchase orders, and day-to-day procurement coordination.
Working knowledge of invoice matching, invoice review, and general purchasing documentation processes.
Ability to analyze supplier quotes, compare bids, and make sound recommendations based on price and service factors.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in orders, invoices, and supporting records.
Dependable attendance and willingness to work extended hours or overtime when business demands require it.
Positive, adaptable work style with the flexibility to assist in responsibilities beyond the primary scope of the role.
Effective communication skills for working with vendors, internal departments, and procurement leadership.
