Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security (IT/CS) Department of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will document the physical and virtual configuration of an information system. You will diagnose and recover failed systems. You will perform operating system management of Solaris, Red Hat, and AIX. Includes performance monitoring and tuning, security auditing and analysis, system log auditing and analysis, disk drive usage auditing, and system failure analysis. You will manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements. You will control current versions and future releases of application software. You will develop integration architecture for Solaris, Red Hat, AIX, and corporate operating systems. You will resolve hardware and software interface and interoperability problems ensuring systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing diagnostic and maintenance tools to ensure functionality, integrity and availability of IT systems. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: For the GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; -OR - Successful completion of 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. For the GS-09: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; - OR - Successful completion of 2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
