Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ 513TH, Military Intelligence Brigade, 297TH Military Intell Battalion, Operations Section, Fort Gordon, GA. Responsibilities Serves as a Senior Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Imagery Scientist. Performs processing, analysis, and reporting, utilizing specialized software and techniques in support of United States Army Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command GEOINT requirements from national and theater collection systems. Assists in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of technical policy and procedures for 513th MI BDE GEOINT operations. Identifies and manages through requirement processes the effective utilization of collection assets (national and theater) to accomplish the GEOINT mission. Provides production support to a diverse group of agencies and theater elements through product development, reporting of findings, and analytical coordination and discussions. Specialized experience is defined as 1) Experience conducting GEOINT processing, exploitation, and analysis using specialized software, tools, and methodologies to meet both operational and strategic intelligence requirements. AND 2) Coordinating tasking, collection, exploitation, and dissemination workflows utilizing GEOINT Enterprise TCPED Services (GETS) or similar enterprise exploitation architectures. AND 3) Delivering GEOINT production support to intelligence community stakeholders through product development, analytical collaboration, and technical consultation. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Systems Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Operational Oversight Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. Education Additional Information This position requires a 2 year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level: 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap). This is an Emergency Essential position that ensures the success of combat operations or support essential to combat systems after a mobilization, evacuation order, or other military crisis. May be required to deploy, on very short notice, to potentially high threat, hostile OCONUS environments and to undergo specific training and immunization requirements as appropriate for OCONUS deployments. Anthrax vaccination will be required. May be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercises and real-world crisis deployments. This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime or domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
