The Department of Mental Health at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center is seeking a Storekeeper II to join our Storeroom and Materials Management team. The incumbent would unpack and examine incoming goods, store goods, supplies and equipment; mark identifying codes on articles; issue supplies, materials and equipment, record transactions, take inventories. Help keep an integral part of our hospital operations running efficiently for our staff and patients. Please note:This is a full time (40 hours) first shift position, hours 8:30AM to 5PM with Saturday and Sunday off. /Duties and Responsibilities (these duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive//)_/ Unpack and examine incoming State P.O.'s to verify quality, quantity and accuracy by comparing packing slip to items received and then to the purchase order. Record items received on a daily receiving log in accordance to established procedures, file a copy of the log and packing slips and send originals to the Business Office to ensure all records are available and the vendors get paid in a timely manner. Receive, record and deliver all other incoming goods to facility vendors by first recording them into a receiving record book and deliver them using a 2-wheel hand truck or a platform truck to the addressee and have them sign the book and leave a receipt with them to ensure all records are kept for future references. Issue supplies, materials and equipment to users in accordance with established procedures. Issue supplies from central supply using information gathered from a supply request requisition form from a DMH program, unit or staff person in a timely manner to ensure quality service. Maintain records and logs of items received and issued, including description of articles, @type and other identifying information in accordance with established procedures. Store goods, supplies and equipment in central supply rooms on metal racks, shelving and/or pallets in their assigned space so all items are easy to identify and/or locate when needed. Take physical inventory of supplies weekly by doing cycle counts to determine actual amounts on hand to ensure enough supplies are on hand to issue upon request. Sort and deliver mail on a daily basis throughout the Fuller building using a mail cart. Also, as needed deliver mail and or materials to other state facilities throughout the Metro Boston Area. /Required Qualifications:/ Capacity to maintain accurate records Ability to lift and carry heavy objects Ability to deal tactfully and professional with others Preferred Qualifications: Given the population served bilingual or multilingual fluency. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least one year of full-time, or equivalent part- time, experience in storekeeping work in a storeroom, stockroom or warehouse, the major duties of which included receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
