ASRC Federal Gulf State Constructors is seeking a Electrician, Interior in support of our Sheppard AFB Base Operations Support Contract Located in Wichita Falls, TX.

Overview:

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and associated fixtures, controls and equipment (600 volts or less). Determines and places distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and installs wiring, couplings conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical devices. Maintenance electrician work requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Must have knowledge of electrical equipment, theory of instruments, technical practices, including troubleshooting and the ability to use electrical drawings.

Responsibilities:

Installing, modifying and testing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls and equipment (600 volts or less amperage, phase and frequency requirements).

Install, maintain, and repair all @types of grounding systems and lighting protection systems.

Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and layout routing, placement, @type, size gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operations of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls.

Work on a wide variety of equipment, including motors, motor control devices, speed control units, and automatic control equipment. Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications.

Install and maintain the electronic controls for machines in business and industry.

Pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. Connect wire to circuit breaker, transformers, or other components. Join wires in boxes with various specially designed connectors.

Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters, ammeters, meggers, and voltmeters to check the circuits for proper connections, ensuring electrical compatibility and safety of components.

Perform preventive/recurring maintenance. Periodically inspect equipment and locate and correct problems before breakdowns occur.

Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

Interprets and applies the National Electric Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings, and uses trade formulas to calculate common properties (e.g. voltage drops and current capacity in series and parallel circuits, resistance, inductance, capacitance, power factors, current flow, and temperature and length in single and multiple raceways, conduit, gutters, and cable trays.

Makes necessary repairs as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience.

Work with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers. Work with lower grade employees to accomplish projects.

Other duties as assigned to support the needs of the customer.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Valid Driver's License

Journeyman Electrician License or higher required

Four (4) years of interior electrical experience

Two (2) years experience emphasized in industrial components repair and working with high voltage

Must be a US or Permanent Citizen due to contract requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Air Force Base Operations and Civil Engineering

Current CPR Certification
