Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production equipment and facility systems with a strong focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems from 120V to 480V. This role diagnoses mechanical and electrical issues, performs preventive maintenance, and ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime in a demanding, hands-on industrial environment.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on production equipment and machinery, including systems operating from 120V to 480V.
Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable and safe operation.
Perform preventive maintenance activities according to the established Preventive Maintenance program and schedules.
Complete, maintain, and accurately document all maintenance work performed, including inspections and repair records.
Perform emergency and reactive repairs on production equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
Conduct inspections of completed maintenance work and document results to verify quality and compliance with standards.
Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling or shop equipment as necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
Apply knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to perform all work safely and in compliance with regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to diagnose issues and perform repairs or installations.
Assist in other work areas as needed and as directed by the department supervisor to support overall plant operations.
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required to repair, modify, or build components and equipment.
Support machining-related maintenance needs, including working with heavy equipment and fabricated parts when required.
Comply with all plant safety and environmental regulations and actively contribute to a safe work environment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area and ensure tools and equipment are kept in proper condition.
Follow prescribed safety procedures at all times while working in a busy, industrial shop setting.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems on industrial machinery.
Working knowledge of electrical systems from 120V to 480V in an industrial environment.
Knowledge and practical application of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Knowledge and use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in daily maintenance activities.
Experience performing preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting at a basic to intermediate level to support equipment diagnostics.
Strong mechanical aptitude, including work with heavy equipment and complex machinery.
Ability to perform accurate documentation and maintain maintenance records and paperwork.
Commitment to following safety procedures and environmental regulations in an industrial setting.
Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Welding and fabrication experience to support equipment repair and modification.
Machining experience in a shop or industrial environment.
Experience with general electrical troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Background in working with heavy equipment and industrial fabrication.
Familiarity with industrial shop tools, equipment, and processes.
Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Work Environment
The role is based in a busy industrial shop environment with a strong hands-on, mechanical focus. The facility has a dirty, heavy-industrial feel, and it is typical to leave at the end of the shift very dirty due to direct interaction with machinery, equipment, and fabrication work. The position involves frequent work around production equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, as well as operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment. The standard schedule follows a 4-day workweek with 10-hour shifts on either 1st or 2nd shift, supporting extended but predictable workdays. Safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and adherence to Safety Data Sheets (SDS), are integral to daily operations in this environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr.
