Collections Specialist

Job Description

As a Collections Specialist, you will communicate with consumers via phone and approved written correspondence to resolve unpaid accounts. You will provide thorough, efficient, and accurate updates to account files for each interaction while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the collections industry. Demonstrating strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment is crucial, and you may be assigned additional duties by management.

Responsibilities

Communicate with consumers via phone and approved written correspondence to resolve unpaid accounts.

Provide thorough, efficient, and accurate updates to account files for each interaction.

Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the collections industry.

Demonstrate strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

Experience in customer service, call center, and data entry.

Ability to @type and talk at the same time.

Comfortable speaking on the phone.

Experience in collections customer service and collection calls.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Strong attention to confidentiality and data protection.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasked, team-oriented environment.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.

English required; bilingual candidates preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires working five days in the office from 8am-5pm Monday through Thursday, and 8am-4pm on Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
