Franchise Operations, Operations Manager (OM)
Territory will primarily cover Orange County, CA . Candidates must reside within or willing to self-relo to a commutable distance of Orange County or neighboring county.
Job Summary
The UPS Store, Inc. (TUPSS) Operations Manager (OM) oversees a geographic area of franchised locations, leading a team of Franchise Consultants (FCs) to optimize revenue and profit through business plan execution and franchisee support. They coach FCs on store evaluations, compliance with brand standards, and adoption of regional programs. OMs build relationships with franchisees, manage business transitions, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve goals. They plan convention style networking meetings to share best practices and support program adoption, revenue growth, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Coaches, trains, and develops the Franchise Consultant (FC) team to enhance their skills and performance. Interviews, hires, and trains new FCs, ensuring they understand company policies and are equipped to succeed. Conducts regular performance reviews to ensure alignment with Region/Network initiatives and goals.
Performs On-Job Supervision (OJS) for quarterly center evaluations, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with requirements. Supports FCs in identifying and addressing operational and financial issues impacting franchisee success, ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Maintains regular communication with FCs, Area Franchisees, and the Solution + Support Campus to ensure timely follow-up and program adoption. Clearly defines and communicates strategies for deploying initiatives while creating a compelling vision driving team buy-in.
Builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, franchisees, and Area Franchisees through proactive communication and partnership.
Develops and shares best practices in operational improvements, training, merchandising, local marketing, prospecting, and franchise management to enhance revenue and profit.
Identifies market-specific revenue opportunities and implements strategies to achieve revenue growth. Mobilizes resources and collaborates with business partners to creatively solve problems/drive market priorities. Trains and coaches FCs in using financial benchmarks, TUPSS resources, and tools to analyze and improve business performance.
Supports FCs and collaborates with TUPSS Solution + Support Campus to manage timely execution of project timelines for ownership transfers, relocations, new store buildouts, remodels, and franchise renewals.
Oversees the creation and execution of convention style regular network meetings to educate, set direction, and share best practices across the area.
Develops professional skills through company and industry-related resources, including on-site training, bi-annual conventions, regional meetings, industry association events, and sponsored training opportunities.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
5-10 years of experience in Restaurant or Retail Operations or related leadership role, managing both people and processes

Skilled at managing multiple projects efficiently and simultaneously, with a strong emphasis on prioritization to ensure that the most critical tasks are addressed first.

Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $88,920.00/year to $144,480.00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
