Academic Administrative Coordinator Greensburg Soc Sci-General Administration - Pennsylvania-Greensburg - (26002654) The Pitt-Greensburg Education Department prepares students to become confident, well-rounded teachers through hands-on classroom experience starting freshman year. The program emphasizes both theoretical and practical learning, with strong partnerships with local schools, inquiry-based classes, and personalized professor attention. Students can pursue degrees in Early Childhood, Secondary, Spanish, or Special Education, with options to add certifications or minors. The program is completed in four years and leads to a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate, which is widely respected and reciprocal in many other states. The SPSEA Education Club is nationally recognized and further supports students through professional development, networking, student interactions, and leadership opportunities. Graduates of the program are well-positioned for teaching careers across Pennsylvania and beyond, where demand for qualified teachers remains high. Job Summary Performs various administrative and student services duties in support of a school. Facilitates human resources recruiting support for faculty, staff, and students; student registration; coordination of teaching schedules; and other related faculty and student services. Essential Functions The Academic Administrative Coordinator will serve as the first contact for the Pitt-Greensburg Education Program by providing advanced program/administrative support which includes: - performing general office duties as assigned, including documentation preparation, file management, data entry, scheduling, and supply ordering; - acting as a liaison between field placement teachers/sites and Pitt-Greensburg including answering program-specific questions and receiving various education and employment forms; - collaborating with education department faculty to complete documents required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education; - verifying and tracking mandatory requirements for students/faculty; - engaging with faculty to support the coordination of student teaching, preparing documents and supplies required for instructional needs; - providing administrative support/backup in the absence of other division administrative personnel in order to assist faculty, staff and students with time-sensitive requests.
