Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the accounting team on a Long-term Contract basis. In this role, you will help keep daily payables activities running smoothly by reviewing invoices, supporting accurate account reconciliation, and assisting with routine accounting administration. This opportunity is well suited to someone who is highly organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working efficiently in a busy environment while following established procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounts payable system with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Reconcile accounts payable records and monthly payment activity to help maintain complete and accurate financial data.

Investigate billing inconsistencies and work with internal contacts and vendors to resolve invoice-related issues promptly.

Respond to vendor questions regarding payment status, invoice details, and account activity in a detail-oriented manner.

Monitor shared accounts payable communications and ensure incoming requests are routed and addressed appropriately.

Prepare supporting accounting documents such as vouchers, postings, memos, and filing records for daily departmental operations.

Assist with check run activities and other payment processing tasks in accordance with company procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following workplace safety expectations and quality practices. Requirements - High school diploma or GED required.

At least 1 year of accounts payable or closely related accounting support experience; 2 or more years is preferred.

Hands-on experience with invoice processing, invoice coding, and check run support.

Familiarity with ERP-based accounts payable systems; experience with Infor XA is a plus.

Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies with strong attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
