As an Operations Transformation Manager, you'll assist clients with developing and implementing operations modernization and improvement initiatives for the Operations Practice - all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel.
From day one, you'll be empowered by the greater Transformation team to help clients make the moves that will help them achieve their vision and help you achieve more, confidently.
Your day-to-day may include:
Aid cross-functional teams in the delivery of major transformation initiatives within the realms of operational efficiency programs, digital operations management solutions, product and operations modernization programs incorporating business opportunity assessment, solution strategy, design, program management, implementation of enabling technologies, and organizational change
Perform engagement management responsibilities that could also include performance reviews, task delegation, project financials, deliverable quality review, and client management across industries
Assist with the development of solution content, whitepapers, proposals, deliverables and/or other thought leadership material
Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and become a trusted business advisor
Manage project economics effectively, delivering client work within budget, while overseeing accounting, billing and client receivables to defined profit margin requirements.
Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives while portraying knowledge and confidence
Manage and minimize engagement delivery risk by proactively identifying issues and recommended courses of remediation to engagement teams
Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
Employ change and transformation methods, data, analytics, operations design and fintech to improve operations performance
Create, interpret, and transform data and analytics into actionable performance insights
Lead clinical performance improvement workstreams for health system clients, including surgical services optimization, emergency department throughput, inpatient capacity management, and physician practice performance improvement
Design and execute operating margin improvement programs across hospital and health system clients, including departmental cost benchmarking, labor productivity redesign, supply chain cost reduction, and revenue cycle optimization
Manage workforce transformation engagements, including the development of target staffing models, workforce redesign recommendations, and change management plans to support sustainable labor cost improvement for healthcare organizations
Support and facilitate strategic planning processes for healthcare clients, including facilitation of board and executive leadership planning sessions, development of strategic financial models, and alignment of operational priorities to organizational goals
Drive value creation for healthcare private equity portfolio companies and health system clients, including pre- and post-acquisition operational assessments, synergy identification, and execution of 100-day and long-term value creation plans
Meet or exceed targeted utilization

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Data & Analytics, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field required
Minimum 5 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level required
Professional certification in a relevant field required: Lean Six Sigma, Master Black Belt, Black Belt, Green Belt, Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified Turnaround Professional, etc.
Client project delivery experience within an industry sector such as Services, Healthcare (Provider/Health System), Health Insurance, Life Sciences, or Asset Management

Familiarity with clinical operations improvement methodologies and healthcare-specific frameworks (e.g., Lean in healthcare, CMS Conditions of Participation, value-based care performance)
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Can travel as needed. Expected travel is up to 20-25% but occasionally up to 80%
The base salary range for this position is between $147,200 and $196,880. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton's discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job -related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.
