Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team in Wooster, Ohio on a contract basis. This position is well suited for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable handling high-volume financial documentation, data entry, and administrative accounting support. The Accounts Payable Clerk will play a key role in supporting day-to-day payables operations, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with core accounting processes while partnering closely with the Accounting Manager and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice matching, coding, and data entry, to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.

Manage incoming and outgoing accounting-related mail, including check distribution, document handling, and records organization.

Prepare, print, and maintain daily invoicing and payment documentation in accordance with departmental procedures.

Provide general accounting administrative support through filing, scanning, and maintaining records in compliance with document retention requirements.

Assist with system cleanup projects and other utility tasks to support efficient financial and accounting operations.

Maintain compliance-related documentation and scheduling records to support internal controls and company policies.

Support annual audits and regulatory reviews by organizing files and providing requested financial documentation.

Serve as backup support for accounts payable activities and contribute to additional accounting duties as assigned by management.

Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting support role.

Working knowledge of invoice processing, account reconciliation, check runs, and coding invoices.

Strong data entry skills with the ability to manage large volumes of information accurately.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Experience using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or a similar accounting system is preferred.

Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and identify missing or incomplete documentation.

Reliable attendance and the ability to perform essential on-site daily responsibilities.
