Description

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day finance operations for an organization in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This fully onsite opportunity is a Long-term Contract position expected to run for up to 9 months, offering the chance to contribute across billing, payables, receivables, and account reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid accounting support experience, and confidence working with QuickBooks and Excel in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Process invoices and payment entries accurately while helping track and resolve claims.

Prepare and apply credit memos, ensuring records remain current and properly documented.

Review supplier statements, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate follow-up to maintain accurate balances.

Support billing activities by preparing invoice information, validating charges, and assisting with account updates.

Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including invoice coding, data entry, and payment record maintenance.

Complete bank reconciliations and identify variances that require correction or escalation.

Use QuickBooks and Excel to organize financial data, generate support documentation, and maintain reporting accuracy.

Assist with accounting activities tied to organizational process changes when needed, while ensuring continuity and accuracy in financial records.

Requirements - Experience supporting accounting operations with hands-on involvement in accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Working knowledge of invoicing, billing support, and accurate data entry practices.

Ability to code invoices correctly and maintain organized financial documentation.

Experience completing bank reconciliations and researching account discrepancies.

Proficiency with QuickBooks for routine accounting and transaction processing tasks.

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work efficiently with spreadsheets and financial data.

Strong attention to detail, time management, and accuracy in a fully onsite work environment.
