The Opportunity:
The Infrastructure Engineer / Administrator is responsible for secure operations and modernization across classified and unclassified environments. This role administers Linux and Windows systems, supports enterprise logging and compliance needs, and helps plan and execute mission system migrations into authorized government cloud platforms. The engineer collaborates closely with Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, and mission system owners to ensure high availability, strong security posture, and effective incident response-using vendor-neutral approaches that accommodate current and future enterprise services.
Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Linux and Windows systems across both classified and unclassified networks, ensuring secure, stable, and compliant operations
Support onboarding of system and application logs to the authorized enterprise security logging and monitoring service by ensuring proper log generation, formatting, routing, and ingestion; collaborate with enterprise platform owners to troubleshoot data-flow issues and maintain compliance with auditing and incident-response requirements
Responsibilities may expand to include contributing to the administration or enhancement of the enterprise SIEM platform based on government direction
Partner with the Network Engineering Team to enable reliable delivery of logs, assist with ingestion workflows, monitor data flows, and troubleshoot aggregation and retrieval issues end-to-end
Perform routine monitoring, patching, configuration updates, and vulnerability remediation to maintain system health, reduce risk, and ensure continuous compliance with required security controls
Interpret vulnerability scan results, coordinate remediation activities, and document corrective actions to support ongoing risk mitigation
Provide direct support to Authorization to Operate (ATO) efforts by maintaining system documentation, preparing compliance evidence, tracking security control implementations, and ensuring audit readiness
Manage centralized logging/monitoring pipelines to maintain data integrity and availability; ensure instrumentation supports auditing and incident investigations
Plan upgrades and decommissioning for end-of-life systems, ensuring proper handling of configurations and data
Support planning and execution of cloud migrations from hybrid/on-prem environments into authorized government cloud platforms; configure cloud components including virtual networks, machine images, access controls, and resource policies
Support cloud account provisioning by creating, configuring, and securing user accounts, roles, and permissions
Maintain knowledge of cloud logging, auditing, and activity-tracking capabilities to support compliance monitoring, operational oversight, and incident investigations
Provide support for data storage and relational database environments including configuration, performance tuning, integration, and backup/restore operations
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including network engineers, system owners, developers, and cybersecurity personnel-to support integration, troubleshooting, and modernization of mission systems.
Qualifications
Required:
Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Experience administering Linux and Windows in multi-network secure environments
Experience supporting enterprise security logging/SIEM onboarding (platform-agnostic)
Hands-on practice with vulnerability management, patching, and configuration baselines
Experience with cloud systems administration including virtual networks, images, identity/permissions, and compliance
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python, and automation tools
Experience implementing DevOps tools such as Git and CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel
Must remain on the client site during Program core hours of 0900-1500.
Desired :
Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
AWS or Azure certification
ITIL v4 certification
Experience supporting SIEM/log analytics onboarding and log source integration
Experience with network services such as DNS, DHCP, and certificates
Experience with database backup/restore and performance tuning.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$103,800 - $218,100
