Job Title: Commercial Construction Carpenter - Skilled Labor
Job Description
This role focuses on constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures on a wide range of commercial construction projects, typically between $1 and $3 million in value. The position involves work on mixed-use commercial spaces, office spaces, gas stations, fast food restaurants, and commercial upfit projects. You will apply advanced carpentry skills, interpret blueprints, and collaborate closely with other construction professionals to deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and plan work sequences.
Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other construction materials using appropriate hand and power tools.
Construct, install, and repair structural and non-structural components, including framing, drywall, doors, windows, frames, flooring, and trim.
Perform finish carpentry tasks, ensuring high-quality fit and finish on all visible surfaces and details.
Install and repair steel framing and related commercial construction components as required by project plans.
Inspect existing structures, framework, and fixtures to identify damage or deficiencies and complete necessary repairs or replacements.
Support adaptive reuse and historic restoration projects by following project specifications and preserving design intent.
Collaborate with other trades and construction team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
Follow local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies at all times on the job site.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and good working condition.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress, issues, and material needs.
Work scheduled shifts and required overtime to meet project timelines, including occasional Saturday work when needed.
Essential Skills
At least 4 years of experience in commercial construction or residential remodel construction.
Proven experience as a carpenter on commercial construction projects.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, methods, and best practices for commercial work.
Proficiency in using basic and advanced hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for layout and cutting.
Experience with commercial construction and retail construction environments.
Experience with steel framing in commercial applications.
Experience with drywall installation and repair.
Experience with finish carpentry, including trim, doors, and detailed interior work.
Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Valid driver's license.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills on active job sites.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
OSHA 10 certification.

Work Environment
This position is 100% commercial in nature, with projects that include commercial offices, fast food locations, gas stations, and commercial upfit work. You will work primarily on active construction sites, using a range of hand and power tools, steel framing systems, and materials such as wood, drywall, and trim. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m., with overtime worked during the week and occasional Saturday work based on project demands. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, requiring consistent adherence to safety procedures and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
