Temporary Legal Assistant (1-2 Month Assignment)

Job Overview

A corporate legal department is seeking a Temporary Legal Assistant to provide short-term administrative and operational support during a defined 1-2 month assignment. This role supports attorneys, paralegals, and contract professionals with daily legal operations, including document management, scheduling, and coordination tasks. This is not a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with preparation, formatting, and proofreading of legal documents and presentations

Support short-term legal operations needs such as matter intake, tracking, billing, and invoice processing

Route, track, and organize legal documents and contracts

Manage communications with internal stakeholders and external law firms

Maintain and organize electronic and physical legal files

Gather and sort information for subpoenas, records requests, and litigation discovery projects

Support compliance-related workflows including document retention and legal holds

Coordinate agreement execution using electronic signature platforms

Skills & Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 2 years of administrative or legal support experience in a corporate or professional services environment

Familiarity with document management systems, e-signature platforms, and legal matter management tools

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a short-term assignment

Excellent attention to detail

Assignment Details

Assignment length: Temporary, approximately 1-2 months only

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Work environment: Onsite

Pay: $21-$23 per hour

Start date: As soon as possible
