The Construction Project Manager oversees complex roadway and utility construction projects from planning through completion, with a strong focus on schedule, budget, and stakeholder coordination. This role works closely with construction, engineering, and design teams to support major roadway construction, roadway improvement, and utility relocation efforts, ensuring that all project objectives are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities
Lead and support full-scale roadway construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
Manage and support roadway improvement projects, including planning, execution, and closeout activities.
Oversee and support utility construction and utility relocation projects in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with construction, engineering, and design teams to plan and execute utility relocation and integration within roadway projects.
Monitor and manage detailed project schedules, identifying risks, delays, and critical path activities, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Develop, track, and manage project budgets, including cost forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, and operations, to align project goals and deliverables.
Maintain strong communication with external stakeholders, such as utility partners, contractors, and other project participants, to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.
Oversee project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project status updates.
Support risk identification and mitigation activities related to construction, utilities, and schedule impacts.
Ensure that work performed on roadway and utility projects meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Participate in project meetings, reviews, and status updates to provide clear visibility into project performance.
Support multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and organizational objectives.
Essential Skills
4-6+ years of construction project management experience.
Demonstrated experience managing full-scale roadway construction projects.
Experience with roadway improvement projects.
Hands-on experience with utility construction projects, with utility relocation experience strongly preferred.
Experience with MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) aspects of construction projects.
Background in construction involving heavy water, sewer, power plants, or similar large-scale infrastructure environments.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, including cost tracking and financial reporting.
Strong experience managing project schedules and critical path activities.
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including internal cross-functional teams and external partners.
Experience in project/program management within construction or utilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working on energy, gas, or utility-related construction projects.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including building relationships and resolving issues collaboratively.
Ability to coordinate and align construction, engineering, and design teams on complex projects.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.

Work Environment
This position is based on-site in Bothell, WA in a hybrid work arrangement, combining time at the project site or office with some remote work as needed. The Construction Project Manager supports large-scale roadway construction, roadway improvement, and utility relocation projects in an active infrastructure environment. Work involves regular collaboration with construction, engineering, and design teams, as well as coordination with external stakeholders in the energy and utilities space. The role offers a long-term contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a full-time position, along with paid time off and holiday pay during the contract period. The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and effective communication across teams.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
