Responsible for planning unit work, creating and adjusting schedules to meet staffing needs, and ensuring adequate nursing coverage for safe, effective patient care. Monitors and evaluates staff performance, develops evaluation processes, and takes corrective action as needed to ensure safe patient care. Conducts monthly staff meetings to communicate initiatives, explain processes and work requirements, and address technical questions. Manages the Outpatient Unit, ensuring compliance with hospital, Joint Commission, federal guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and other applicable standards. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is ineligible for the Bargaining Unit.
