Position Title:Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach

Job Description:
The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking talented candidates to serve in an entry-level Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach role to help build on our culture of competitive success in competition and in the classroom. This position will assist the Head Coach with all phases of the NCAA program to help develop our student-athletes to reach their full potential.
Examples of what you'll do:
Assist with planning effective practice sessions and competitive coaching situations
Effectively teach, mentor, and coach to develop well-rounded student-athletes and contribute to and enhance a nationally competitive athletic experience
Identify and successfully recruit and retain academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes
Analyze scouting reports and pre-competition evaluations of opponents to provide effective strategy planning
Establish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes
Assist with meet management, operations, and administrative functions
Adhere to University, Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations
Establish and maintain effective interactions with the students, colleagues, university community, alumni, media, and the public
This position requires a high level of wrestling knowledge, excellent work ethic, along with exceptional motivational, teaching/coaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to travel extensively including overnight stays for recruiting and competitions.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Experience coaching or competing in wrestling at a highly competitive level (post high school).
Preferred Qualifications:
Decorated NCAA Division I wrestling background as a competitive athlete.
Strong recruiting relationships with top wrestling clubs across Iowa.
Expertise within lower men's weight classes, specifically the 125-133 lb range.
