Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
The Quality Technician performs detailed inspections and testing of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role uses precision measuring tools and quality control methods to monitor manufacturing processes, document findings, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a modern, highly automated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
Conduct a variety of inspections, tests, and measurements using appropriate tools and equipment to verify product quality.
Monitor manufacturing and operational processes to confirm alignment with quality requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.
Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to fully understand product requirements and inspection criteria.
Document inspection and test results accurately, including detailed findings, trends, and recommendations for corrective actions.
Prepare clear and concise quality reports for internal stakeholders and continuous improvement efforts.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
Participate in root cause analysis activities to investigate non-conformances and support the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, process capability, and operational efficiency.
Maintain accurate, organized records of inspections, testing, non-conforming product, and other quality control activities.
Support the training of production personnel on quality standards, inspection procedures, and best practices.
Comply with all established safety policies, housekeeping standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Stay current on relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to manufacturing and solar energy.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall quality and operational objectives.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing or similar environment.
Hands-on proficiency with precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and thermal imaging cameras.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and product specification documents.
Demonstrated experience preparing accurate and detailed quality reports.
Strong experience in root cause analysis and non-conformance investigation.
Knowledge of quality control principles, inspection methods, and quality documentation practices.
Ability to identify and document non-conforming materials and products.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in measurements and documentation.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and production personnel.
Ability to follow established safety procedures and use PPE correctly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing and solar energy.
Experience participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to train or mentor production staff on quality standards and procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in investigating quality issues and trends.
Organizational skills to maintain structured and accessible quality records and documentation.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled, and highly automated manufacturing facility designed for precision work and consistent product quality. The position follows a 3-2-2-3 schedule (three days on, two days off, two days on, three days off) with 12-hour shifts, providing a three-day weekend every other week. Shifts do not rotate between days and nights, offering a stable work pattern. Work involves regular use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and thermal imaging cameras, as well as interaction with engineering drawings, blueprints, and product specifications. The environment emphasizes safety, housekeeping standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
