Job Description
The Operator 2, Manufacturing works in a laboratory and production environment to formulate, fill, package, and label products while following detailed manufacturing documentation and standard operating procedures. This role completes routine production work with occasional variations, operates and monitors a variety of processing and packaging equipment, and performs in-process checks to ensure high-quality, cost-effective products are available on schedule. The position requires careful attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in standard and cleanroom environments.
Responsibilities
Formulate, fill, and label products according to manufacturing paperwork, SOPs, work instructions, and the production schedule.
Complete production and quality analysis of reagents, components, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
Operate and monitor production, processing, and packaging equipment, including balances, labelers, band sealers, pumps, filtration systems, and other packaging equipment, making necessary adjustments to maintain smooth operations.
Weigh, measure, and check raw materials, using computer interfaces where required, to verify correct materials and quantities for each batch.
Calibrate and operate semi-automated and automated manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures.
Perform in-process sampling and testing to verify that batches meet defined specifications and quality requirements.
Effectively communicate and interface with other workgroups to coordinate and complete daily production activities.
Work in both standard and cleanroom environments while following room-specific PPE and cleanliness requirements.
Comprehend and accurately complete production paperwork, including product reconciliation, label reconciliation, labor sheets, product fill checks, torque checks, and related documentation.
Follow all steps in manufacturing documentation without deviating from written instructions.
Work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials, following all applicable safety procedures and controls.
Comply with company safety regulations, ISO guidelines, GMP requirements, and all applicable SOPs.
Clean and sanitize work areas, machines, glassware, and equipment as needed or as directed to maintain proper operating conditions and cleanliness.
Maintain equipment and laboratory rooms to ensure they remain in good working order and meet cleanliness requirements.
Complete and maintain quality records in compliance with regulatory requirements, GMPs, and standard operating procedures.
Use sound judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions in recurring work situations.
Review and analyze situations or data involving identifiable factors to resolve routine production issues.
Work alone or collaboratively with other technicians to complete assigned production tasks.
Work overtime and flexible shifts as needed to support production demands.
Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Essential Skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment performing formulation, filling, and labeling tasks.
Experience with assembly, packaging, and general manufacturing or production work.
Ability to operate and monitor production, processing, and packaging equipment such as balances, labelers, band sealers, pumps, and filtration systems.
Capability to calibrate and operate semi-automated and automated manufacturing equipment.
Strong attention to detail in weighing, measuring, and checking raw materials to ensure correct materials and quantities.
Ability to perform in-process sampling and testing to verify that batches meet specifications.
Proficiency in reading, understanding, and following production paperwork and manufacturing instructions without deviation.
Ability to accurately complete documentation, including product and label reconciliation, labor sheets, product fill checks, and torque checks.
Comfort working safely with chemicals and hazardous materials in accordance with safety procedures.
Commitment to comply with company safety regulations, ISO guidelines, GMPs, and all applicable SOPs.
Ability to maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and laboratory rooms to required standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience working in both standard laboratory and cleanroom environments.
Familiarity with quality recordkeeping and documentation practices in a regulated or GMP environment.
Experience operating computer interfaces to assist with weighing, measuring, and batch verification.
Understanding of ISO guidelines and good manufacturing practices.
Ability to adapt to recurring work situations with occasional variations and moderate complexity.
Comfort working independently with general instructions on routine work and more detailed instructions on new assignments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of EUGENE, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
