Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will support the U.S. Attorney's Office by providing a variety of office support services. Typical work assignments will include: Receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and packages for the office; Serving as the primary receptionist and receives telephone calls and visitors to the office; Purchasing office supplies and ensures accuracy upon delivery; Processing supply requests and maintains the office supply room; Managing and controls the usage of office vehicles. Ensure required logs are kept and all required maintenance is performed; and Producing a variety of written documents utilizing varied and advanced functions in one or more @types of office automation software. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-5: In order to qualify for this position, you must have: at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level; or four years of education above the high school level; or a combination of both specialized experience and education as explained below. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing a variety of administrative functions such as sorting and distributing mail and packages; receiving telephone calls and visitors to the office; maintaining adequate levels of office supplies; and maintaining office files and records. Combining education and experience: A combination of specialized experience as described and education which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. GS-6: To be eligible at the GS-6 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience providing a variety of administrative functions such assorting and distributing mail and packages; receiving telephone calls and visitors to the office; purchasing goods and services for the office including preparing required paperwork; maintaining adequate levels of office supplies; and submitting maintenance requests through the building tracking system. To be qualified, you must @type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
