Summary The Program Assistant (Office Automation) is located in the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) Service at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The purpose of the position is to plan and carryout program assistant assignments or projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness of productivity of various programs. Responsibilities Responsible for collecting, reviewing, and monitoring data that is required for the administrative and clinical inquiries, reports, and initiatives that the GEC Service. Runs and reviews and wide range of data processes related to The Long-Term Care Institute (LTCI), the Joint Commission and well as standard and requirements. Review and reports various data related to quality improvement (QI), workload, business planning initiatives, quarterly and ad hoc reports for GEC Programs using multiple data sources. Configure new and existing processes based on requirements specific to operating procedures. Gathers data for management of clinical and administrative processes and programs for improving organizational effectiveness and compliance with current performance measures. Performs administrative duties such as Timekeeper for VATAS, TMS Coordinator, Purchase Card coordinator, and PIV sponsor.
